Summer swimming school

This intensive swimming school gives children and young people the opportunity to develop their swimming skills for real in the sea!

Students also learn about what is found under the sea surface, lifesaving, CPR, water safety and swimming in different weather. Children between 6-12 years old can also participate in badge taking and/or crawling. We take traditional master's badges during a weekend in August where hot chocolate, cookies, lunch and a wreath are included! Each course is based on a well-developed syllabus.

The highlight of the swimming school is dressage swimming with a lifesaving exercise where the students can pretend to fall into the water with a life jacket from a plastic boat! The swimming school ends with a festive closing with a master's ceremony, sausage barbecue or coffee as well as the awarding of badges and diplomas!

Goal: Know correct leg and arm pulls. Be able to dip parts of the face and float with flotation aids. Able to jump in shallow water. Tried swimming with clothes and a life jacket, threw a hansar line and floated in a lifebuoy.

Goal: Getting used to the water and being able to correctly coordinate arm and leg movements with flotation aids. Be able to submerge the whole head, float with few flotation aids and be able to jump in shallow water. Able to throw hansarline.

Requirements: Correctly able to coordinate arm and leg movements with flotation aids

Goal: Be able to swim approx. 5 m breaststroke or backstroke. Be able to dive to the bottom in shallow water, jump into deep water with a flotation device and float for 5 seconds. Be able to throw a lifebuoy.

Frog, can swim 5 m

Goal: Be able to swim 10 m breaststroke or backstroke. Be able to dive to the bottom in shallow water, jump in deep water and float for 10 seconds. Be able to throw a lifebuoy.

Goal: Be able to swim 25 m breaststroke or backstroke. Be able to dive from the edge, tow along and throw a lifebuoy and float for 30 seconds.

Requirements: Be able to swim 200 m breaststroke or backstroke

Goal: Be able to swim 500 m breaststroke and 200 m backstroke. Be able to dive from the edge and be able to dive to a depth of 1.5 m. Be able to turn from stomach to back in deep water. Be able to lateraldive 5 m, tread water for 2 minutes and float for 2 minutes.

Candidate, can swim 500 m breaststroke and 150 m backstroke

Level: Step 7

Requirements: Able to swim 500 m breaststroke as well 150 m backstroke

Goal: Be able to swim 600 m breaststroke and 300 m backstroke. Be able to dive from a height of 1 m, be able to deep dive 2 m deep and be able to dive 10 m long. Be able to float with clothes on for 3 minutes and bring a friend ashore in a lifebuoy. Be able to float for 3 minutes and tread water for 3 minutes.

Requirements: Pass grade in the Candidate or equivalent skills

Goal: Be able to swim 1000 m breaststroke and 500 m backstroke. Able to jump/dive from a height of 1 m, deep dive to a depth of 3 m and vertical dive 12 m. Able to float with clothes on for 4 minutes, retrieve a life-saving dummy at a depth of 1.75 m, bring a friend ashore in a lifebuoy. Able to float 8 minutes and tread water 8 minutes.

Master's weekend, approved at Järnmagister, Bronzemagister or Silvermagister

Level: Stages 9-11

When: 12-13/8 + 19/8

Requirements: Passed grade Iron, Bronze or Silver master.

Goal: Be able to swim 1000-2000 m breaststroke and 500-1000 m backstroke. Able to jump/dive from a height of 1 m, deep dive to a depth of 3 m and longitudinal dive 12-16 m. Able to float with clothes on for 4-8 minutes, retrieve a life-saving dummy at a depth of 1.75 m and bring a friend ashore in a lifebuoy. Able to float 8-12 minutes and tread water 8-12 minutes.

Crawl 1, can swim 200 m breaststroke or backstroke

Requirements: Be able to swim 200m breaststroke and 25m backstroke.

Goal: Be able to swim 25 m back crawl. Able to crawl leg kicks and crawl arm grabs in stomach position.

Requirements: Able to swim 25 m back crawl.

Goal: Be able to swim 10 m crawl and 50 m back crawl. Able to swim double backstroke.
